Foods

Great seafood bisque, Curry, Calamari. A little odd that it's in the Hot Spot gas station, but So So worth it! CASH ONLY and they don't take reservations. So prepare to wait in line. They also do take out.

Outdoors

It's a baseball park BUT also has a nice level greenway around it, great for your doggies! (on a leash) and 3 areas of river access, great for kids of all ages.

Spend a few hours on the greenway! Entrances at the Macon County Library (steep walk down to the greenway) but a beautiful river spot below; or in town at Big Bear Park if you want a level walking path. Bring your dogs on this location and let them meet others at the dog park; and kids can play at Wesley's Playground.

Sightseeing

Take the drive up to Highlands (Hwy 64). Dry Falls is about 3/4 of the way up, on your right. It can be busy during peak season, but if you can park, it's worth the walk down. Breathtaking falls and fantastic photo op for the whole family.

Take a day trip up to Highlands. Stop at the Market on the far side of town. 1 mile past, turn at Sunset Rock. It's a walk uphill (road, not a path) but worth the view of Highlands. In 2021 you could drive all the way up and park, if you can't make the walk.
