City advice

What to pack

Limited groceries

If you plan on cooking, grab your groceries before you arrive. The San Juan Market in Port Renfrew offers a small selection of necessities. Great candy and ice cream selection!
What to pack

No cell service

Part of the charm of Port Renfrew is the ability to turn off. There is no cell service in the area. Your connection to the rest of the world will be via wifi.
What to pack

Bring small first aid kit

It's not a bad idea to travel with a small first aid kit. While Port Renfrew houses many dedicated first responders, the nearest hospital is over an hour a way.
Don't miss

Warning signals - Tsunami's and 911

Every Tuesday at 6PM you will hear a loud horn/siren for approximately 1 minute. This is practice night for local first responders as this is their call to the fire hall in case of emergency. The same horn will sound in case of Tsunami warning, but the signal will not stop. You will need to make your way to higher ground if this happens.
