A new foot path has just opened up the side of Criffel, this is the large hill you can see on the horizon down the valley. There’s a car park at the bottom of the route in a farmers yard, and the way is clearly signposted. It’s a great short walk with amazing views of the coast, the lake district and Dumfriesshire.
