Walk to the beach

The beaches are what make Trecco Bay a wonderful place to stay. My son says ‘our’ beach has everything. Sand dunes, rock pools, wide sandy space to play, lots of shells and sea glass to collect. Tides vary a lot so we recommend downloading a tides app and checking on times. At high tide there is not much beach and on low tide the water is far out. If we want to climb on the rocks and play in rock pools we go nearer to low tide. If we want to kayak or paddle board we go at around an hour or so after high tide so there is less walk to the water. Just something to keep in mind. To get to the beach turn left out of Pines and take the first left at the roundabout, walk through the gates and the beach is directly ahead. It’s less than a five minute walk. You will be on Newton beach here, it is a dog friendly beach so you will find dogs being walked here. If you prefer somewhere without dogs you can go straight on at the roundabout and head to Trecco Bay at the end of the road and to your right. Dogs are not allowed on the beach there during the summer.
