50 miles from the cabin, it would make for a long day trip but if you stop in here (near I-17 on the 260 just NW of Camp Verde) on your way up, you won’t be disappointed! It is in the desert, so probably not a great summer destination but if you’re headed up any other time of year, then it’s a great time to visit Out of Africa.

Just half hour away from the Olympus cabin, walk the streets of Prescott, explore the historic buildings and homes surrounding the courthouse square. Shop art and antiques or dine on Whisky Row. Head to the lake! Lake toys (4 paddle boards) and life jackets are located in the shed in the backyard. Beach towels are in the hall linen closet. Search the web for Prescott lakes on the City of Prescott’s website for more info on the (5) lakes Prescott has to offer.
Important note!
There is only one lake in Prescott that allows swimming and that is Lynx Lake, the one that is closest to the Olympus Cabin. The other four lakes allow many other activities, including paddle boarding so making sure and check out each one of them below!

(Upper) Goldwater Lake is a 15 acre lake, 18 miles (40 min) northwest of Olympus Cabin (2900S Goldwater Lake Rd, Prescott, AZ 86303).
This is a small lake but has a lot of beachfront. The only lake that is going to have this type of beachfront in Prescott. Outstanding for canoeing/kayaking (rentals are available)… they also have:
