Food Scene

Great food and great coffee. This little coffee house/bakery is a great place to stop for breakfast before you start the day - enjoy your morning coffee and some health granola and fresh berries, or smoked salmon and eggs.

This neighbourhood bar is family friendly, it's big and when it's busy loud with lively conversation and background music. The food is solid, from a rack of ribs, to a rotisserie chicken, it's not fancy but it's good!

Cool bar, with riverside terrace, serving burgers and other indulgent food, as well as top notch bar food (my fav is the duck flatbread to share). In the summer months they hire out swedish hot tubs on the riverside, in which they will bring you drinks (and food). Late night entertainment includes DJs from across the musical spectrum some even mixing with vinyl (get in!)

A modern set up of a British classic, Fish and Chips. The Fish House is a contemporary, independent seafood restaurant and traditional takeaway. Serving an ethically sourced, seasonal menu. Perfect for families, couples or friends. Delve into a hearty fish pie, or savour delicate Colchester oysters in a space that feels more seaside than city. Choose from a contemporary menu or try one of our weekly specials. They also do takeaway :)

Fantastic pizza and friendly service! The restaurant is really well priced, especially as Italian restaurants can often seem expensive. The menu offers more than just pizza, with fish, meat and vegetarian dishes too!
