Sightseeing

Historic and ancient chalk figure carved into a hill which can be seen from our land! In fact the largest representation of man in Europe and set on the South Downs surrounded by other ancient neolithic and roman sites. A free car park is close by, or a 30 minutes walk (partially on the road).

Lovely historic priory with moat, house, working mill and large gardens. Has a cafe/tea room too. About an hours walk away through Abbots wood or along the river Cuckmere via Arlington church. Can be made into an excellent circular walk with a stop at the wonderful Upper Dicker store and cafe.

This is the stunning white cliffs at the end of the South Downs National Park, between Beachy Head and Seaford Head. A gentle walk from Exceat car park near the river allows a view without the strenuous walk as an alternative. This walk takes over 2 hours to reach from Hayreed Barn, but is a short drive.
