You can not visit San Miguel without visiting the studio of Anado McLauchlin (born 1947), ex-pat[clarification needed] artist living in the small village of La Cieneguita in central Mexico. At present Anado is constructing a large scale compound known Casa las Ranas Recently written up in the New York Times[1] which includes the gallery known as The Chapel of Jimmy Ray which houses Anado's multi layered assemblages which he refers to as Artifacts from the Chapel.
