Fabulous views from here. You can drive or walk up to the top. Worth an early morning trip to see the sunrise. On a clear day, you can see as far as Ruapehu. Take a walk at the top to look for fossils.

One of the many wineries worth a visit. (There are many.) You can take a picnic lunch, buy a bottle of wine. They provide the venue and glasses. Some wineries provide food- either platters or full menu. Elephant Hill is amazing on the summer and The Mission is interesting because it’s the oldest winery in NZ. There are cycle tours or van tours you can book. They will pick you up and drop you off afterwards.
