Drinks & Nightlife

Great bar with fantastic character, live music and craft ales. Tom, the bartender, is legendary. Their BBQ menu is amazing, particularly (bizarrely) the brussels sprouts.

Good selection of drinks, board games and a great atmosphere. Don't be fooled - whilst it looks only OK from the outside, it's much nicer inside.

Great bar, 24 hour (so if you come back late from the Quarter there is always somewhere to go) with free live music every night and epic cheeseburgers.

Winner of the Best Neighborhood bar in New Orleans. Great for live sport, particularly live soccer, showing pretty much any game you could ever ask for. Food is good Irish pub stuff.

Want a bit of culture with your cocktails? Small art gallery upstairs always has good exhibitions on. They do a good range of drinks and food too.

If you are visiting from afar you have to eat local and that has to include Creole.

Not a recommendation... but if all else fails you have the (24 hr) option of this/Mc Donald's, slightly closer. Personally (if ur going for a burger chain) I'd go to 5 Guys which is a 5 minute drive.

Decent bar with loads of beers... but the beer garden out the back is reason to visit. It's huge with loads of TVs, usually popular for sports.
