Can't beat the proximity to Magazine Muse. A bit expensive, but tapas always are. They serve full-size entrees too. The upstairs balcony is where it's at.

My best friend in the whole world works here. So I'm partial, but the place has earned accolades in its own right (e.g., Lilette appears regularly on food critic Brett Anderson's annual Top 10 list)

Best (and closest) place to be served a cheap cup of Joe from a tatted-up barista and buy the new album by that local band, on vinyl, of course.

Their burrito is the closest thing to a true Mission District-style burrito that New Orleans has to offer. Mexican food is by no means New Orleans's specialty. This place fills the void nicely.

The Bronx Bar (connected to the restaurant) is the perfect spot for a late-night slice. Just ask all the service-industry folk from nearby restaurants who go there post-shift to hang out, eat, drink.

Drinks & Nightlife

Kinda pricey, but they serve great craft cocktails, and the kitchen serves excellent small plates and stays open late. Get the burger, order a Manhattan, and watch all the glitzy folk schmooze.

This place doesn't just have the best jukebox in the city; it has the 1st AND 2nd best jukeboxes in the city. And lame yuppies don't hang out there. So it's got that goin' for it. Which is nice.
