The history of the earth and the breathtaking variety of nature can be practically experienced due to 20 million objects: From insects to gemstones and minerals and pterodactyls, the Habsburgs united everything under the roof of this museum near the Imperial Palace. Numerous taxidermy specimens of animals that are either extinct or threatened with extinction make the collection all the more valuable.

As a tourist you should not miss a visit of the Rathausplatz Vienna. Nearly all-the-year you can find here some special events like the film festival, circus, Christkindlmarkt (Christmas market), Wiener Eistraum (ice-skating rink) and some other seasonal events. In the summer months July and August you can find a lot of different stands from the regional restaurants at the Rathausplatz Vienna. If you don't find a place to enjoy the different local and international food then just walk a few meters to the shady and a bit more peaceful Rathauspark and sit down on a bench. At nightfall (around 21:00 o'clock) you can also watch every evening some opera or concert recordings at a large screen which is directly in front of the town hall. There are also a lot of seats and you can enjoy the open air cinema-feeling free of charge.

Best rooftop views
The rooftop bar of Hotel Lamée is another magic spot from which to enjoy gorgeous views of the city centre and a good close up of Stephansdom. In the run up to Christmas, the café houses Vienna’s highest mulled wine booth on its roof terrace. Note that the roof terrace can get closed at short notice if the weather is bad;

Have drinks and snacks in a relaxed atmosphere at one of the best rooftop hotel bars in Vienna. You will likely meet locals at the ‘Dachboden’ (‘attic’) as the bar is unusually popular (for a hotel bar) with the Viennese. On Wednesday evenings from 7pm the bar stages its ‘Salon Hermes’ with swing pop and cha cha cha music. Notice: In the evenings, you may have to queue in front of the busy outdoor glass elevator;

An amusement park for many, place of nostalgic dreams for some, oasis of greenery for almost everyone – and the location of the Giant Ferris Wheel, one of Vienna’s most famous symbols. The Vienna Prater is in season from March to October. But the world-famous Giant Ferris Wheel and a few other attractions are open all year round.

Coctail Bars
If you are a fan of modern interior design and good cocktails this one is one for you. The design is a mixture of Gothic archways with vintage light bulbs and is really perfect for a nice Instagram posting. The cocktails are approximately 12 euros but worth the price.
