A classic seafood restaurant with fantastic chowder, local lobster, fish and chips, a kids menu, steak for seafood-phobes. A huge menu. Located on the Union River in Ellsworth with a lawn on the water for lounging while you wait for your table- last time we were there we saw and eagle grab a fish right out of the water.

City advice
What to pack
Waterproof shoes, a warm sweater and jacket, and bug spray.
Even summer in Maine can be cool - especially if you'll be going out on the water. Make sure to bring a warm sweater and jacket and waterproof shoes.
If you're going into wooded areas, check yourselves for ticks afterwards. Especially behind your ears and in your hairline.
