Classic Maine experience since 1946. Amazing lobster rolls and local seafood on the Bagaduce River. They also sell very cheap used kids books at the window!

A beautiful, historic waterfront hotel. Enjoy afternoon tea with popovers and a gorgeous view then take a walk around their manicured gardens. Avoid the crowds at Jordan Pond House and have your popovers here.

Take a tour of the gorgeous waters surrounding Cranberry and Islesford islands on a small boat that delivers the mail to the folks who live there. This is one of my favorites summer activities. Less touristy and more personal than the big tours but just as fun.

What to pack
Waterproof shoes, a warm sweater and jacket, and bug spray.
Even summer in Maine can be cool - especially if you'll be going out on the water. Make sure to bring a warm sweater and jacket and waterproof shoes.
If you're going into wooded areas, check yourselves for ticks afterwards. Especially behind your ears and in your hairline.
