Verona Wine and Design is new to Bucksport and is a treasure not to be missed! Offering a selection of wines and a limited, but varied, menu of appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts, VWD brings to Bucksport a classy, but relaxed, place to have lunch or dinner. Seating is offered both inside (air conditioned) and outside on a lovely patio. On your way out, peruse the wines and the owner's hand-made (from wine-barrel) items offered for sale. And, please tell Colleen and Mike (the owners) that Sally from VI says 'hi'.

A local favorite, the ice cream shop on Main St, Wahl's Dairy Port, offers lots of textures, types and flavors of ice cream. The ice cream shop has been in existence for as long as I can remember (and I'm 60!) and it is a place that local residents love to go to, especially at the end of a hot summer's day!

Sears Island was a new discovery for us-- and, it is now a favorite place to go for an easy and lovely hike and for spectacular views of the Penobscot Bay area. There are trails throughout the island (the largest uninhabited island on the east coast of the US) and the beach area (5+ miles) all around the island is stunning with its various rock/ledge formations and sandy to pebbly type of beach. If you choose to walk the beach, it is recommended that you go during low tide.
