Helming Main Street and open 7am to 11pm, they look like not much more than a gas station shop, but somehow have everything you’ve ever wanted. Especially check their freezers for delish/healthy frozen meals. Beer connoisseurs: they slyly have brews from seemingly every local maker in the Catskills (ask). Two of them are kind as can be, and the other two are hilariously rude and want nothing to do with you. One of the latter makes the best pastries around (for sale on the front table), aside from the woman who homebakes all the cakes at Brios, around the corner.

WINE & SPIRITS
Though we aren’t recommending any bars or breweries as nightlife because...you’re staying in our house. Please drink responsibly. Really. Sincerely. Please. “Relaxing” is one thing, but you’re above getting wasted, right?

It is apparent from the street what a coveted spot this is; currently spilling masses out onto the recessed lawn. Look up whether they’re open, as they’re weekends-only for now.

Behind all the white twinkly lights you’ll pass along 28 is this secretly-gourmet gem. The ambiance is somewhat suburban/hotel/conference center, but you can sit (very distanced) by one of two fire places, the food is actually to die for, and the bar is mixologist-worthy. (We think their food is - shh - far better than the Phoenicia Diner!)

Local staple! They have more of a “diner” menú than the Phoenicia Diner, as in it’s umpteen pages, covering all cuisines and moods. Their “slices” - both pizza and cakes - are also deeeelish. Owned by the Italian dynasty family responsible for much of the town.

Design trendy boutique hotel with currently/COVID outdoor back deck dining; call ahead, as they often only allow dining as a package deal with a pricey room stay.
