Authentic Italian food at budget friendly prices. Pastas are made from scratch, and the coffee is the best in the neighborhood. Their cornetti (Italian for croissants) and bombe (Italian for donuts) are delish. Early birds can score a coffee & cornetto/bomba for breakfast for only 30k. Their flagship in Seminyak has a charming little garden and swing in the back—perfect for families looking for a little r&r in town.

For all the meat connoiseurs out there, this relative newcomer is a must on the dining list. Si Jin serves up some incredibly prime cuts from different parts of the world. And it's all grilled at your table right in front of you!

Rum lovers should check out this "speakeasy" at the back of a nondescript Japanese resto. Head to the back and up the flight of stairs to a dimly lit space that makes you feel more like you're in Cuba compared to Bali. Their rice field view isn't too bad either.

Entertainment & Activities
A sunrise climb up Mt Batur is an unforgettable experience. Tour companies will pick you up around 2-3 am from Ubud and take you to the base of the mountain where you’ll meet your guide. The ride takes 45min – 1hr. They’ll give you a “breakfast” (hard-boiled egg, banana + water) to start the 4-5 hour hike up. It’s not strenuous but be prepared for the steep incline. Wear a long sleeve shirt and pants as it's cold in the early morning. Check the weather too, as you may want to bring a rain coat. They also sell ponchos, hot tea and chocolate at the peak. Try to stop at one of the hot springs along the way back.

This is the location of the famous rice fields everyone has seen from Bali. Definitely a must do in Ubud, but expect lots of tourists. You'll also need to pay a donation to access most of the trails, but it's definitely worth it. About 20 mins from Ubud.
