We love this small city. It's about an hour from the house, but well worth the ride. There are lots of unique shops and fabulous restaurants. You can take a cruise on the harbor and see the city from the water.

The tip of the big lake - Our favorite ice cream shop is there - Jay's Bayside, which also has miniature golf. The ice cream cones are gigantic! Get a small for under $2 and you probably will be completely satisfied.

The highest peak in the northeast is pretty impressive and only two hours from our house. You can hike, drive, or take the train to the top.

Only 15 minutes from the house - take rt 28 south to rt 126 and make a left. Drive a few miles. The small access to the trailhead will be on your right. It's a steep mile up and then a mile and half across the summit for views of Bow Lake. Be aware of bears on this mountain :). Most likely you will be the only ones on the trail. There are wild blueberries bushes on top of the mountain.
