Arid dessert-like area near the shores of the Gulf of Panama. Drive on Carretera Nacional in the direction of Divisa from La Villa or Chitré and take the right at the sign of Paris (yeah! Paris but not the French town) and follow the signs to Parque Nacional Sarigua.

Pure nature and pretty beach. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to throw trash (take your trash back with you) nor hunt animals. Upon arrival you will be charged a small national park fee. You get there by a 30 min (approx.) small boat ride from Playa El Arenal in Pedasí. Costs around $50 for the boat though and that does NOT include entrance to the island.

Beautiful beach but be careful as it is usually steep and waves may be a bit violent (typical of the Pacific Ocean). There are no facilities like showers, etc. A small restaurant (fonda) or two may be available. From here you can hire the boats to Isla Iguana Natl. Park. Diving tours also start here.

A wide strip of shallow beach and popular surf spot in Panama where surfing competitions are held. There are several small restaurants and hotels nearby. Shop around because the hotel prices are a bit on the high side.

Essentials

Large supermarket with everything you need should you not be able to get the essentials at the several Chinese stores around the corner. Need to celebrate? good place to buy drinks and cake as well. There is also a small but well supplied drugstore inside. Most medication available off the counter.
