Kayak and Lovers Island
You will be camping between three rivers: the famous Douro, the large Tâmega and the tiny Paiva, so go for a kayak experience. You can rent them in the local kayak club. Their kayaks are perfect to enjoy safely and do not need previous experience. You will sail on beautiful rivers and even find the Lovers Island if you choose the Douro River.

Go kayaking with this kayak club. It is one of the best ways to discover one of the best parts of the Douro, in the district of Porto. There is an island that is said The Lovers Island and the Paiva river, where there are places that require a beautiful photo and a good dive.

It is close, it is right in front of the river Douro where it find the end of the Tâmega river. In summer there is an open swimming pool. It is the best option nearby.

If you want to try truly, honest and very tasty Portuguese food, you must try Tasquinha do Fumo (in English: Smoke Tavern, due to its fireplace), from our friends Isabel and Artur. But you must reserve it. Ask us to help you get a table.
This tavern is in the middle of the biggest mountain around. Its also in the middle of a hiking track, that you can safely do it by yourself (following the international signs).
It is about 1h driving from where our caravan is. But it's worthy.
