Delicious tacos and, of course, great mezcal. The ginger margaritas are definitely worth a try. Call between 2:00pm and 5:30pm to make reservations. Try to get a table outside if possible. The restaurant is located in the heart of the Arts District and has a great lively atmosphere. We’ve been known to have dinner at Barrio de Tango and walk up the street a few blocks for drinks at La Lupita.

Great burgers in a beautiful large garden setting. We have never needed reservations. This is the sister restaurant to Barrio de Tango, and located at the edge of the Arts District.

El Merkado is located right across the Corridor, next to the Pemex gas station, across the street from the RCC entrance, and in front of the Hospital. There are lots a small restaurants and bars to choose from. Don’t let the location discourage you. It’s a cool place. The prices are fairly reasonable and we tend to go there when we are too lazy to cook or drive downtown. Our favorites are the barbecue and tapas places upstairs, and the Italian place downstairs. There’s also a good meat market and a tortilleria there that we like. And the bar downstairs is pretty good too.

This is more of a fancy restaurant. It is one of our special occasion places. They have good Mexican and International food, a great outside seatng and wonderful service. This is sort of a classic Cabo restaurant. The food is good, but not trendy and the atmosphere is quiet. It’s located right across from the church off of San Jose’s main plaza. Please call for reservations.

Flora Farms was one of the first farm to table restaurants in Cabo, and it has now become a San Jose institution. They offer great organic food. It is a little pricey, but the seting and the grounds are a must see. There are mostly gringos here, but nevertheless, it is typically a wonderful experience. For an initial visit, we recommend going for lunch. It allows you to see the grounds during the day and you’ll have a great meal at a reasonable price. If they ask to take you on a private tour of the residences, go for it. While they will give you a sales pitch, it’s very low pressure and the architecture is great! If you’re there for dinner, get the pork chop.

Wonderful casual Mexican food. Expect a lot of tourists if you go before about 8 PM. After that, it's mostly locals and the atmosphere changes dramatically. This is also a San Jose institution. It's a great courtyard restaurant, great service, good Mexican fare and a lively atmosphere. We had our first dinner in Cabo here about ten years ago. Try the al pastor tacos...they're delicious!

Great selection of local and imported wines. The coffee is also great. As we don’t have a coffee grinder, you can have them grind beans there for you if you decide to buy your coffee there. That’s where we go. Or, stop for a latte and a fresh-baked muffin in the morning.

Held on Thursday night. Great time for checking out the various art galleries in the San Jose Historic District. It's the night where are usually sleepy town comes alive. They also generally have live street music. Head down to the plaza in front of the church for people watching.

It's perhaps the prettiest beach in Cabo. Beautiful white sand and it's almost always swimmable. Just exit the Corridor at Palmilla, head toward the water and you'll see the signs. There's also a swimming area just for kids.

Sightseeing

Head up the Pacific side of the Peninsula to visit the quaint town of Todos Santos. It's historically been a bit of an artistic community. There are lots of shops, galleries, and restaurants. It's a nice day trip. We like the bar and restaurant at the Todos Santos Inn.
