A visit to the quarantine station is a must and great for the kids - just ask for the activity pack at the information center.
The fort is also a great experience and if you are not up for the 3km walk there is a shuttle service.

This trail is great for walks just off the beach in either direction from Dromana. If you head off to McCrae the lighthouse is a good destination and only a 3.5km walk one way.
The trail is also good for cycling and will take you all the way to Port Nepean.
