Canalside is the prime place to see the progress of "the Buffalo Renaissance." In the winter, you can skate on the extra large outdoor rink that traces part of the original path of the Erie Canal. In the summer, you can stroll the boardwalk, rent a kayak, take a boat tour, see a concert, and see what else is in town that weekend.

Curling is the best. I’m happy to take you here if I’m home and we have ice (usually October-April). You can also rent a sheet to play on with friends or attend a learn-to-curl class.

The Niagara Gorge Trail runs all the way from the falls to Lewiston, but the most interesting part is down the steps from the whirlpool and continues to Devil's Hole State Park.
