Parks & Nature

Carter Hill Orchard is in our backyard. It is great for hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and mountain biking. The West End Farm Trail starts at the orchard and you can hike for 7 miles of beautiful country. Not to mention great apples and cider donuts in the fall!

Carter Hill Orchard is in our backyard. It is great for hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and mountain biking. The West End Farm Trail starts at the orchard and you can hike for 7 miles of beautiful country. Not to mention great apples and cider donuts in the fall!
This park is a great network of well marked trails. You can go a short distance or longer if you like. There are two great vistas. One is of Penacook Lake. The other is of the mountains. This park is only 2.5 miles from our house.

It is truly beautiful. All of Franconia State Park is spectacular and only about an hour and a half from our house.

This canoe/kayak rental shop is less than a mile from our house. In the season you can take 1/2 day or full day trips down the Contoocook River.
