This is fine dining in a beautiful countryside setting. The menu includes many items that have ingredients grown in the extensive kitchen gardens, or foraged from the estate (some of which you can walk around). The Pig’s food is a sensory delight, and the attention detail is incredible. From mushrooms grown in a special climate controllled building, to infused oils using their homegrown herbs, to items from their own smokehouse, such as the salt. The staff are friendly and very accommodating.

A very friendly cafe and bakery with American style thoughtfully prepared food. Very pocket friendly too. The building has been very carefully and creatively restored, with lovely quirky touches, like the copper tub basins. In the winter you will find cosy fires, and the roof top conservatory is light and airy with great views. But one of the best things, in my opinion, is that they're open until 11 at night giving a great relaxed non-pub option for evenings out.

Beautiful beach with something for everyone. Views, some sand, some pebbly bits (my kids don’t like sand,), water sports, coastal walks, nice shops, good places to eat (we love The White Horse for fish and chips), at eastern end of beach the tide is always high enough to swim.

Arts & Culture

This small, free museum is packed with local history, and not just about lace. There are also lace demos in the afternoons, and you can even have a go yourself.
