This Ukrainian Diner is 1 of a kind and a must visit while you're here. The best part is they're open 24hrs a day, and are literally 500ft from the apartment. Make sure to try their famous Borscht and Pierogies.

One of the 3 best bagel spots in NYC. The other two being: Murray's bagels and Brooklyn Bagel Co (but Tompkins is only 3 blocks away :-)

My favorite local taco and tequila spot is literally around the corner. This Los Angeles inspired taqueria serves great margaritas and tacos along with being a fun bar to hang at.

Best indian in the village. Slightly more expensive than some of the neighboring spots, but non of them are as delicious as this place. Get the Chicken Tikka Masala and you won't regret it.

Looking for a quick bite for cheap. Stop by this Indian burrito spot. It's basically all you're favorite indian dishes, but they roll it up in an insanely delicious flat doughy bread. They're a bit small so get 2 atleast.

Parks & Nature

This park is just a quick stroll away (only 2 blocks). It's a lovely place to walk through in the morning with your cup of coffee and stop to watch the dogs in the dog park area.

Drinks & Nightlife

Good cocktails, chill atmosphere, moderately priced. A good spot if you're just looking to have a low key drink.

If you're looking for a speakeasy dance bar. Then look no further than the Blind Barber, just a few blocks away. It's hidden in the back of an old school barber shop. Get there a lil early on weekend evenings or else it can be hard to get in.

One of NYC's most iconic speakeasys is just a block away! The secret bar is hidden behind a phone booth inside a hotdog shop called Crif Dogs. It's recommended to call them earlier in the day to make a reservation to make getting in easier. But you can always take your chance of just showing up. It does get busier after 10pm. This low key Jazz bar is one of my favorite spots. Very casual and no cover. Just go in grab a drink at the bar and watch some great live jazz. Most of the musicians are just people who come in with their own instruments and jam.

Shopping

If you're looking for perfect shopping destination in NYC, make sure to stroll around soho where you'll find everything from designer clothing to H&M, and bloomingdales. The main strip is between Houston and Canal on Broadway, but the various streets around there have the more exclusive boutiques.

Sightseeing

Just 5 few blocks east (exit apartment and go right, just keep walking and cross over the highway) You'll arrive at the charming east river joggin path. Its a beautiful view of brooklyn and the river. If you're adventurous just keep walking south about a mile and a half and you'll arive in the financial district's south street seaport. It's also wonderful views of NYC's most iconic bridges.
