The WoolPack at Slad, which was Laurie Lee's local pub where he wrote "Cider with Rosie" a book about moving to Gloucestershire from London post WW1 and arriving as a small boy with his family and furniture on a horse drawn cart- meeting his first love. The Woolpack is owned and run by sculptor Danny Chadwick and it's the perfect place to sample rural culture and seriously delicious food. Monday night is Chadwick Pizza Oven night.
