Jaki's is a local favorite because it is the number one friendliest eatery on the Ridge. Jaki's has great food, but they are community minded and have special events such as Classic Car Shows, Thanksgiving Dinners, Veteran's Day Barbques.

It is housed in the historic Magalia Train Depot that was once a thoroughfare for giant logs being sent to the local sawmill with many a log cut into lumber as well as wooden matches for the Diamond Match Co. It is full of old photographs from gold mining days as well as logging.

Magalia is the home of the Willard Gold Mine. Here in 1860 or so a 48 lb gold nugget was found near Sawmill Peak. Only about 5 miles from here. The Gold Nugget Museum displays a replica of that giant gold nugget as well as other relics and history from the California Gold Rush Days. Entrance is free.

This is a very small town with a restaurant and bar situated along Hwy 70 in Feather River Canyon. If you go, either plan to spend the night at the lodge or return before dark as the road is dark and windy.
