This is the home of the original Baltimore crab cake. Faidley's has been around forever, and is located in the historic Lexington Market. The market and surrounding area can get a little sketchy at night, but well worth a visit during the day. The crab cakes are not cheap, but they are absolutely worth it and probably nothing like you've had before. Strongly recommended!

Artifact has some of the best coffee around, and it's in walking distance from my house! Located in a converted mill, it also has great baked goods and a breakfast/brunch menu. Artifact is the same restaurant group as Woodberry Kitchen (notable restaurant in the area), but much more reasonably priced.

Great cafe with a solid menu of counter-service food - think higher-end burgers and noodles, but at very reasonable prices. Great coffee, and good tables for studying or reading. In Mt. Vernon - a very nice, walkable neighborhood and the home of the original Washington Monument.
