The best bread in Sydney, and very good coffee. I love going in the morning and grabbing my bread when it's still warm and super crusty on the outside and fluffy in the middle, and grab a coffee in a keepcup, bringing it home and having breakfast with other ingredients you can grab from the supermarket that's about 800m away.

I was going to put this one up in essentials ... - if you want to splash out on fancy cheese, go here! The range is amazing. Pair up with wine from drnks.com.au (they do next day delivery) or from the BWS bottle shop on South Dowling St.

Parks & Nature

I love the Manly to Spit walk if you want to get a sense of what the Australian landscape is really like, and then there's AWESOME views of the Harbour, plus you get to go on the ferry which is always nice.

Arts & Culture

If you love contemporary art this place is great! They have an awesome exhibition on right now by Pippilotti Rist, I can't recommend it highly enough, and lots of local art. It's right on the Harbour as well, so you'll get to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Sightseeing

Start your walk from Andrew Boy Charlton Pool (the nicest place to do laps or just hang out - it's right opposite the Navy port so there are all these huge ships and it's on the water) and walk around to the Opera House. I love doing this around 7:30pm in summer, when the weather is the nicest and the sky's turning pink.

All your busses to places like Alexandria, trains to Redfern (or anywhere else). Google Maps works really well in Sydney, so I'd always check that first for the best mode of public transport to suit where you're going.
