A good collection of New Zealand-made art, crafts and gifts are on sale. Cosy possum and wool items are perfect to keep yourself warm or give away, and they sell interesting jewellery , cards & paintings.

Parks & Nature
There is Limited access to vehicles on this gravelled road so it is good for walking or cycling beside the harbour. It is only a short walking distance from the final bus stop on the Eastbourne route, and you can hire a bike to use at the bike shed on the way to Burdan Gate, the starting point.

It is only a short walking distance from the final bus stop on the Eastbourne route, and you can hire a bike to use at the bike shed on the way to Burdan Gate, the starting point.
There are bike and walking tracks alongside the River from Petone at the South end heading northwards to Upper Hutt; if you cross the road and/or rail pedestrian bridges you can walk a loop track and park your car at various entry/exit points. Walking by Shandon Golf course is pleasant and the track is fairly flat, apart from the gradual gradient as you ride north up the valley.

A must-do activity for many of our guests with a reasonable level of fitness, the track up and over one of the local hills gets the heart pumping and provides many lovely views of the harbour en route.

A must-do activity for many of our guests with a reasonable level of fitness, the track up and over one of the local hills gets the heart pumping and provides many lovely views of the harbour en route.

A smaller cafe than the popular Seashore Cabaret in Petone with similarly great food and coffee, this cafe has the same quirky vibe and as it is situated in the Gracefield industrial area it opens early to catch the local workers.
