For overnight camping, trout fishing, walking or general peace and quiet, this Lake is one of our favourite places to be. Highly recommend an evening watching the stars.

The old growth pines make this walk a real treat. The view is stunning from the top and a picnic wouldn't go astray. It's on the must-do list for an introduction to the Village life.

This is the natural hot pools that most people visit the village for. It's been modified for larger tourism but the pools are still feed naturally and range in temperature from warm to bearably hot.

As a foodie and well, winey (?) :) I highly recommend this local winery. There are so many wonderful vineyards in the region from Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury but locally this one is a standout!

The local ski area is a very popular field during winter. Transportation can get you to and from if you're not equipped.

This a local fishing spot which is a real fun angling challenge. Taking the road off the Hanmer Springs Rd, left (on entry) and finding your way to where Hanmer River meets the mighty Waiau. SSshhh ;)
