Popular local café in the middle of an area with great shopping. We often go there for brunch, although it is not the best in the area, the atmosphere is great and it is very family-friendly. Outdoor seating for sunny days!

The area's best place for breakfast. Served as small dishes all day, and the care for each dish shines through. It can be a bit noisy, though.

Our local place. Not always open (closed on Sundays), but always worth a visit. They make a great lunch and dinner in a rustic, not-your-standard-cafe style (think coq au vin, etc). Great for a beer in the afternoon as well

Small local coffee place with really good coffee and snacks such as toast. Catch the sun at a table in front of the café if you come early in the day.

The widely agreed-upon best coffee place in Nørrebro, an area obsessed with coffee. Coffee Collective trade directly with the coffee producers to ensure better quality, prices and quality of life for the farmers. While you are there, be sure to check out the many small independent shops in Jægersborgsgade, grab a coffee from Coffee Collective and head into the Assistens Cemetery across the road.

Huge shop in two levels with a unique display of scandinavian design and clothes for women and children. The small entrance may fool the passer-by, but the Normann shop is actually located in an old theatre.

Arts & Culture

If you have time, a trip up north to the fabulous Louisiana Museum is worth it. The museum is famous for the way the architecture connects to the surrounding nature. They have well-curated and accessible exhibitions, a good Children's museum with activities connected to the current exhibitions and great views over the water to Sweden.

The National Art Museum is very close by, and has a large permanent exhibition of scandinavian and Danish art as well as changing exhibitions with different themes. Their café is roomy and kid-friendly (although there are no menu items for kids) and a good place to rest between sightseeing. The best attraction for kids, however, is the workshop where children for a modest fee (20 kr) can work with all sorts of materials: clay or glue guns, or paint with acrylic colors.

Parks & Nature

Fælledparken is a large park with open grass areas for playing football, a pond with a beautiful fountain and several great playgrounds: The 'tower' playground with a jungle gym shaped like Copenhagen's famous towers is placed along the path near the hospital, the water playground is placed near Østre Fælledvej and the Traffic playground with miniature traffic lights and pedestrian crossings is across from the Stadium.

A favourite weekend pastime in Copenhagen is taking a walk (or a run) along path at the three artificial lakes in central Copenhagen. They stretch from Østerbro to Vesterbro, and take you past a lot of great places to have a coffee (only on one side of the lakes, however, the other has a nearby road).
