Drinks & Nightlife

It's an excellent cosy, family pub, just down the road. I can easily walk there in 10 minutes. They sell a selection of craft beer. My favourite is the 'Twisted Ankle'. A thick, dark beer. Also great food, and nights dedicated to quizzes, poetry and music.

Shopping

A fun, informal, temporary food and shopping area, with attractive, landscaping, which was created from containers and colourful sunshades, after the 2011 earthquakes. This was very successful and popular, but is slowly being replaced by tall, grey buildings, blocking out the sun.
