One of my favorite restaurants in Springfield, Bruno offers superb food. Not your typical Italian restaurant- wood fired oven pizzas, lots of seafood options (the seafood ravioli is wonderful as is the pasta with shrimp), and house made Italian sausages- there's something for everyone. They also make the deserts in house- if it's available, the key-lime pie is divine. Great wine list, atmosphere and vibe. You can dress up or not. Get a table or sit at the bar.

This is a local brewery and restaurant. There is live music many nights of the week. This is not a crazy loud scene- it's frequented by young and older alike and has a relaxed vibe. It's a large building and usually there isn't a wait. On Sundays, there is live music upstairs on the patio or inside (weather) and live music many other nights as well.

Breakfast- this is my favorite for breakfast although there are many other options. I recommend trying the sweet browns with your meal (hash browns made with sweet potato!). The omelets are loaded. They've got you covered with mimosas and bloody mary's. It's a busy place on Saturday and Sunday mornings especially after 10am, but the food is great and they have expanded their seating.

This restaurant has two locations. The orginal is just blocks away downtown and the 2nd location is on the South side, still just a short drive, and it's located in Farmer's Park with lots of other shopping and dining (and a farmers market on Saturdays complete with food trucks). Crepes- savory and sweet. The food is great. They change the menu seasonally and I've never been disappointed.

Another bar for music lovers. This is in a very old building on Commercial Street- an interesting street to explore for shopping and eating. Lindbergs has early music shows and later shows- so there's usually something going on. They've also got a full food menu. Warning- the music is usually a bit loud. Volume-wise (all types of music performed there). Go prepared if you've got sensitive ears!

Interesting menu featuring Peruvian dishes. One of the appetizers, it's almost a tamale, is my favorite to order as a vegetarian meal. Great atmosphere.

If you'll be out and about away from the downtown area, Dancing Mule is a centrally located local coffee shop (sorry, you won't find me at Starbucks with all of the amazing local coffee shops Springfield has!). They've got some light food- scones and biscotti and the like- if you need something to go along with that latte. Very nice bunch here! There is also a drive thru window on the side of the building- bonus!

Do you watch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives? This place really should be featured. It's small- not fancy- it's all about the food- with some outdoor seating. I love their falafel tacos. With any entree you choose your protein- falafel for the veg-heads, or chicken, steak, or fish! If you love a burger, the Full Ride is the way to go. Like spicy? Order your meal with 1-4 stars (I go 2 or 3 stars. Believe me 4 star is actually quite spicy! If you are a spicy lover then go for it). You don't have to add any stars though, no worries. They've got some amazing pasta dishes, burgers, tacos, the hummus is garlic-y goodness, and you can get some local Mother's Beer while you're there as well.

Holy tacos! The best. Some of the best people chose to open this amazing eatery right here in the neighborhood- near time and timber and cherry picker. Carry out, dine in or on their patio or take it to tie and timber- so. Good. If you like real good street style tacos then look no further. They've got some wicked good cocktails as well- I recommend the Paloma.

Drinks & Nightlife

MudLounge is a chill, easy-going pub. Quiet enough you can actually have a conversation- in other words- not a loud crazy scene here. Whether you like wine, beer or mixed drinks (large martini menu including coffee drinks!) this place has a huge selection. Seriously. They've also got decent food- sandwiches, pizzas, hummus, fondue etc. There is a small patio out back.

Our neighborhoods own microbrewery serving up a fantastic selection of beers, kombucha on tap and byo food. Family friendly. Live music on weekends. Outdoor games. A great chill vibe.

The Order is located inside the Hotel Vandivort and is a local favorite for food and drink. Don't forget to go downstairs and get yourself a #hotelvandivortbathroomselfie It's a thing. Great changing seasonal menu and drinks. The smoked old fashioned is a winner!
