Idyllic white sand, bush fringed beach. Walking access only from either the car park on Matapouri Road (30 mins round trip), through groves of ancient Puriri trees or via Matapouri Bay (40 mins one way). Great for swimming, snorkelling and picnics. Basic toilets and well maintained pathways. No direct road access is available so you need to park at the top of the hill on Matapouri Road.

The Vuletich family is the pioneer of wine making in the Whangarei region. Longview Estate is the first and only winery in New Zealand that has the most primitive and distinctive white diamond vines for more than 50 years. It masters the complete system of white diamond soil climate cultivation and brewing. In addition to the representative white diamonds, the Longview Estate includes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Gerwurztraminer, etc., which are widely cultivated in the world. Their performances are quite impressive.

The Guinness is good. There's an Irish band on a Wednesday and a pub quiz in a Thursday. It has a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Make sure to order a plate of 'smashies' - homemade, piping hot and crispy roast potatoes.
