Beautiful walk through the park/rose garden. Lots of native plants - note the visitors center is only open on weekdays and not on public holidays. Close to the city, cable car and planetarium.

Great exhibits. The planetarium shows run regularly and are great. Also can view the planets through the planetarium telescope on Tuesday and Saturday nights (weather dependent).

Just down the road from our place. Great view out over wellington city (but note, is at the top of a hill). The fortress opens from 10am-4pm on Public Holidays and can be viewed for a small fee.
