Parks & Nature

It's a great big patch of green in the middle of Brussels with loads of options for everyone! The Bois de la Cambre (French) or Ter Kamerenbos (Dutch) is an urban public park on the edge of the Sonian Forest in Brussels. It is linked to the rest of Brussels by Avenue Louise, which was built at the same time the park was laid out, in 1861 by Édouard Keilig (fr), a German architect. It comprises a small lake with an island in the centre, called Robinson's island. In 1877, the Chalet Robinson was built on the lake's island. The chalet was destroyed by a fire in 1991 and it reopened to the public in September 2009. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bois_de_la_Cambre

It's the best park in Brussels! An urban secret garden. Tenbosch (or Tenbos, meaning in the bush) is a public park in Ixelles ~ Elsene, Brussels. Formerly a privately owned dendrological garden called Semet after its owner. Although relatively small, it is an exquisitely landscaped park popular among local residents. It is surrounded by a wall and offers an unexpected oasis of calm in a busy district. Park Tenbosch is within a short walking distance of Avenue Louise / Louizalaan, the Ixelles Ponds, the Abbey of La Cambre / Ter Kameren, and the Bois de la Cambre / Ter Kamerenbos. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenbosch

Take a stroll or a morning jog around these ponds. Enjoy several epochs of fine Bruxelloise architecture along the way. The Ixelles Ponds (in French: Étangs d'Ixelles, in Dutch: Vijvers van Elsene) are two freshwater ponds in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles. The ponds we can see today are those spared by a 19th-century campaign of drying the wetlands of the Maalbeek valley between the Abbey of La Cambre and Flagey Square. With the surrounding park, the Ixelles Ponds are the tip of a long strip of almost uninterrupted greenery reaching all the way from the Sonian Forest deep into the urban tissue of Brussels. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ixelles_Ponds
