Our Favorite Restaurants

Please be sure to check ahead for closings and hours related to COVID-19. We've tried to post notices on each business here if they are currently closed. So far we've only lost one permanently (Farewell, beloved CAKE Cafe). There are several favorites for us around New Orleans. From our current neighborhood, to the French Quarter, to our former neighborhood in the Marigny; there's so many places to visit!
Our first date was here! Incredibly romantic, out of the way spot in the FQ!

Pay NO attention to the fact that it's attached to a laundromat (or do, if you have laundry to do WHILE you get some authentic N'awlins food AND daiquiris)! I've heard it's not for the faint of heart, but if you can mind the main rule of service in NOLA ("Be Nice or Leave") then you will do just fine. Don't leave no valuables in your car if you're driving here though.... and seriously be nice. MUST - HAVES: corn grits, and daiquiris.

DUH..... lol It's the French Quarter in New Orleans. You can spend days here exploring and finding new things. Of course we highly recommend Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee. However, there are some restaurants really worth seeking out here that aren't the ones touted to all tourists: Sylvain, Cain & Table, Cafe Amelie, and EAT to name a few! Some of the walking tours can be really enjoyable and the tour guides are usually people who love to entertain and often share some great history. If you do a riverboat cruise we highly recommend the Natchez... we call it the "booze cruize"... and it's so nice, just don't waste your money on the buffet (you'll find much better elsewhere)!
