LBI, as Long Beach Island is known in the local lingo, is a beach lover’s paradise. Even at the widest point of this 18-mile-long island strewn with small shore towns and long stretches of white sand, you’re never more than half a mile from the other side.
Head NORTH for Barnegat Lighthouse State Park or Viking Village, a commercial fishing port.
Also in the North are the relaxed towns of Surf City, Loveladies, North Beach and Harvey Cedar.
Head SOUTH to find the bustling Ship Bottom, Holgate, Brant Beach and Beach Haven, the island’s main action center.

Great groomed trails, suitable for joggers. Plenty of parking, playscape, and bathrooms. An observation deck overlooking the pond. See snapping turtles sunning themselves and box turtles along the path. Fantastic for bird-watching.

Bay Village was designed and built by John Maschal in 1965 as a 19th Century replica of a waterfront village.
Visitors can still see them make delicious hand-whipped Country Kettle Fudge, marvel at the giant Elephant Ears in the Crust & Crumb Bakery or find the perfect Long Beach Island gifts for friends and family back home.
Today the village features over 20 unique shops and eateries, there is truly something for everyone.
