EATS

Hard copy of this guidebook available in my home, too, with recommendations organized according to walking distance, etc!
Extensive deli with yummy sandwiches, also a full salad bar. Deli case with items they will heat for you to eat-in or take out. Deli case divided into separate vegetarian and meat sections. Tip: hit the hot serve-yourself bar for the fastest in-and-out. Always has brown rice, steamed greens, a vegetarian main dish like tofu stirfry, and one or two meat dishes, like Sesame Chicken, or ham & broccoli mac & cheese, for examples.

Amazing vegan and gluten-free cafe with the kind of healthy superfood chocolate, etc. desserts ya just don't see in many places. Sometimes service can be slow and the waitstaff seems stoned, but hey… this is Vermont, after all. BYOB. Tip: Any of the “Bowls” like the Ferment Bowl, Macro Bowl, and soups, tend to be served pretty fast as they are easy to prepare. One of my favorites is the Baked Burrito with kimchi.

Not cheap, not the most expensive, either. Great atmosphere and lighting… you know, for those of us who care about aesthetics. Delicious food, including breakfast/brunch. Tip: Try the Main St Beet Down cocktail, served up, with tequila, beet juice, jalapeno, and cilantro!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Not often because, ya know, CARBS, but so tasty. Love tasting the complexity of well-made food. Lovely details like fresh crusty bread served with garlic-basil infused olive oil and whipped butter.
