Local swimming

There is a pond, Chickawaukie Pond, at the end of Lake Ave and Lake View Dr. During the summer there is a swim area roped off for public access. You may also have small craft in the pond.
Very relaxing public pond for swimming and recreational small craft. It's really in walking distance. A great way to get in daily exercise!

Favorite Restaurants

Forget fast food while in Rockland. We have fantastic food and a large variety available!
Not my favorite for Breakfast; but, when you want local style seafood for lunch or dinner, this is the place. Lobster meals at Market pricing, great Haddock plates and plenty of other food options and specials. They carry a limit variety of local and domestic beer too. Enjoy

Brass Compas is the place for great local breakfast. It opens a 6 AM; and, that is about the only time you won't have a wait. Many local dishes; and, I've tried them all. Never disappointed. Incredible Lobster Rolls, etc. If you want to try it mid day and it's crowded, just order a take out.

This place is as good as it comes in Rockland. Great dishes, I had a Salmon plate there recently, it was probably the best I had ever had. They have a good bar with a great selection of beer and other beverages. Say hello to Mike behind the bar for me!

The breakwater was built to protect our harbor from Northeastern storm fronts. I really secures the bay for small craft sailing, etc. The lighthouse is maintained and attended by volunteers. It is a good hike to the lighthouse on the jetty; but, worth it. Boats are allowed to dock there too!

The Camden Snow Bowl is our local ski slope. For Winter fun it offers a view of the Ocean in an Alpine skiing atmosphere. There is a yearly toboggan race held there too.
