Stella Maris Road connects The Stella Maris Monastery with the German Colony in Haifa. as you walk you will enjoy amazing views of Haifa and the Galilee that stretch all the way to the Lebanese Border. it is recommended to go there as a part of day trip. start at Sderot Bat Galim or Bat Galim Beach. visit the Bat Galim promenade and walk all the way to Shawatina. there you can enjoy lunch at Shawatina or Eatliano dalla costa which is right above shawatina for more fine dining. after that take the cable car to climb up the hill. it will take you to the monastery. when you are near the monastery make sure you also visit the holy family chapel for stunning views of the sea especially during sunset. then walk all the way down Stella Maris Road to enjoy great views of the sea and northern Israel.

if you like food. this is the place to be. you get a huge selection of salads that will be refilled again and again until you're full :) all this while enjoying wonderful Sea View. if you go there, don't order individual appetizers. instead, just order the selection opening salads and only one main dish because it's a LOT of food. the selection opening salads already include all the other appetizers. and make sure you only sit outside next to the beach to enjoy the view and the sea breeze!

Ben Gurion Blvd is one of the most beautiful places in Israel. you can enjoy a great selection of Cafes and restaurants. and enjoy a direct view to the Bahai Gerdens. The Recommended Cafe is Fattoush. a great place with a great atmosphere and a nice variety of local dishes. for a cheaper and more authentic option. nearby you can visit "Mama Pita". they serve a very tasty arabian style Pizza/Pita. when you are at Mama Pita make sure you try the chicken Pita and the Pizza Meshuperet. for dessert make sure you stop at Knafeh Ba Moshava (Ben Gurion 19) Knafeh is a middle eastern traditional dessert and this is the best place to try it :)

Sightseeing

mount carmel is one of the biggest national parks in Israel. wonderful for hiking and for enjoying the natural forest with spectacular views over Haifa and the sea. you have several marked walking trails that are extremely enjoyable. the best thing about this park is that most of the time it's not crowded at all. so if you are visiting in any time other than Israeli national holidays you get to experience nature at it's best. It's best to visit this place in the early spring. march till may would be perfect. in the summer time it can be too hot to walk outside and enjoy it.

Food scene

totally renovated recently. downtown Haifa is the place to be for nightlife and fine dining. you can enjoy fine dining and sophisticated food and good wine in any of the restaurants at Hanamal Street. or you can have a drink in any of the local bars around Natanzon and Dovrin Street.

Ways to save

when in a restaurant ask for tap water. it's free! :)

tap water is drinkable in Israel. and Israeli law forces restaurants to serve tap water free of charge. so most Israeli's drink tap water when they eat in restaurants. it's cheaper and much healthier than the alternatives.
