If you don't mind a short detour after visiting Cape Spear, drive into Petty Harbour and visit Chafes Landing. They're a family owned restaurant in an active fishing community, if you're lucky enough to be visiting during the fishery season you won't get fresher seafood. You may even spot some of the fisherman on the dock with that days catch.

This family run business has been serving fish and chips for generations. No list is complete without it, I'd always go downtown and get my annual fish and chips at one of the pubs but many people say Ches's is the place to go.
