I've been going to this PF since I moved here, and it's never too crowded, even during peak hours. I'm always able to find an open treadmill, and even the weight machines don't get too congested.

Quaint underground cafe where you can get work done, read, or bring friends to hang out. The coffee is great, too.

Very easy walking distance from the apartment, and they've got good coffee and a wine bar. One drawback is they don't allow computer work here, but you can meet friends or read or pick up a coffee on your way to the 1 train!

Excellent Thai food. Can't say I've ever been to the actual restaurant, but I order from here on Seamless ALL the time, and have never had a bad experience.

Not even close to gourmet, but it satisfies the late-night/early-morning diner fix. Also on Seamless, so you can order a burger in the middle of the night if you don't feel like going out!

Far preferable to C-Town in my opinion, but a little bit further of a walk. Two stories, lots of options, and way fresher produce.

If the laundry machines in the apartment building are all being used, you can head here to do your laundry. All the machines are card-operated, so you'll need to bring a little cash to load onto the card they give you. There are tons of machines here; I've never had to wait for one to open up.

Just a few blocks west of the apartment building, this is my favorite nearby place to run. Gorgeous river views over into NJ, and plenty of nice places to picnic too. If you take the trail north to the George Washington Bridge, you'll see the Little Red Lighthouse of children's-book fame!

Easiest to take the train up to Dyckman Street in order to get here, but VERY worth the travel for the gorgeous river views and beautifully maintained gardens in the park. The Met Cloisters, located in the center of the park, is stunning as well. Wander the park till you find the west-facing terrace, and then enjoy the spectacular sunset.
