Favorite Restaurants

Ethnic restaurants are local, caring and my favorite way to go. There are many ethnic restaurants in the San Diego area, this is just a 'taste' of my experience.
This is a bit different from most Mexican eateries. A nice treat. In South Park. 2310 30th St, San Diego, CA 92104 (619) 501-0643

Lovely vegan dishes of typical Thai food. No lunch specials, but worth it. Not vegan? You'll love it anyway. It's in Hillcrest. 1417 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103 (619) 230-5540

They have a few restaurants. This one is the largest and quite elegant. The buffet is the finest in San Diego county-my opinion. It's a bit of a drive from my house, but worth it. I also have eaten at their Del Mar restaurant. Both have been wonderful. 8990 Miramar Rd #200, San Diego, CA 92126 (858) 457-9999

Sightseeing in San Diego

There are so many places to check out. We are actually close to ocean, desert, mountains, and Mexico. Here is a very small list of the many things to do in San Diego.
Our world-famous zoo is a leader in conservation. I love going there for the animal encounters, for the magnificent, lush botanicals, the exercise and the fact that at least these animals are safe.

Old Town is a state park. You can walk around, see the first school house, jail, decorated period homes, costumes, etc. I can spend hours there. Often there are theme days. Not far from downtown San Diego.

This is a huge park. Many museums, hiking paths, events, gardens, live theatre, street performers, artists, musicians, jugglers, international cottages. It's actually bigger than Central Park in NY. I love picnicking or just walking around. Very lively! And, it's right next to our Zoo.

Hasn't changed much since the last century. Nice farmer's market on Wednesdays. Laid-back feel to this beach town. I go there for the OB People's Co-op and just to walk around.

Coronado is a peninsula. It has a lovely beach, not as crowded as the the San Diego beaches. I like to take the ferry from downtown SD and rent a bike and ride down the strand (a bike path running along the ocean and the bay). Lovely old homes. Check out The Del (Hotel del Coronado) and ride around Coronado.
