Goldhanger has two very good pubs open for food and drink. The Chequers Inn is the largest of the two with a bigger and more varied menu. Surrounding villages also have pubs. There are excellent Tiptree jam tea rooms/restaurants on the sea wall between Goldhanger and Heybridge Basin. In Tiptree at the Tiptree jam factory there is another tea room and restaurant. Also in Tiptree the famous Perry wood garden centre selling excellent food. There are Indian and Chinese restaurants within 4 miles plus fish and chip shops. Maldon is the nearest town with a wealth of cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.
