Waterfall
A gorgeous 12 level waterfall situated in primary rainforest, an hours drive from Tandobone bungalows. Swim holes on several levels of the waterfall. Eateries and kiosks near the entrance (with small fee) of this protected area.

An evergreen forest on a steep hill in Tentena overlooking the city, the river, Lake Poso and the surrounding clove and cacao hills behind. Quite chilly protected area (with small entrance fee). Toilet, kiosk available.

Bada Valley houses many megalith statues and jars. Another unique Sulawesi area. The spectacular 4 hour journey there with very steep and winding roads takes you through cold rainforest with hornbills and pitcher meat eating plants up till 1800 meter high into a savanna valley with short shrubs and elephant grass, cold rivers with hanging bridges, cacao plantations ,waterfall and hot springs. Stay the night in plain hotel. The air can be even cooler because of the altitude at 700 meter above sea level ,compared to around Lake Poso ( at 500 mtr). Watch how clothes are made from bark.

View, relax and enjoy
Cooler breeze and the 22-27 degree clear water of lake Poso makes for great swimming, touring , canoeing or fishing. The lake is surrounded by white sandy beaches on which one of the Tandobone bungalows is built.

Food scene
Tentena
Visit the market, A-frame food stalls at the city garden or the new bridge.
Pamona Cave
Cave with many connecting rooms, with stalagmites and stalagtites. Some human bones are still displayed.
Bring flashlight and watch your head. Entrance is very low. Only advisable for the adventurous and fit, not afraid of dark and small spaces. Cannot get lost though.
