Food scene

The best of Dubuque cuisine. Stay longer and try each of them, you won’t be disappointed.
Chef Kevin was featured on top chef and has done some amazing farm to table dinners (they sell out in minutes). We usually order a few things and share. Jonathon at the bar is also great at craft cocktails. There menu is seasonal, but currently love the bison sort ribs and lamb pasta. There gnocchi are a good starter along with the duck tacos. They also do some great vegan/vegetarian options.

Chef Kim has made Peppersprout a local destination. Her Cajun dishes give you that heat that is sometimes lacking at other establishments. Her fish specials are flown in that day so I typically get those when they are offered! Recently she has been doing some roasted root vegetable that I could easily make my meal (or a perfect vegetarian option). The have an extensive wine list and while no cocktail menu offer some great staples and alway inventive options for Russ, the head bartender/manager.

A great go to spot. I really like L May when Going our in bigger groups. There service is outstanding and EJ, the owner, is one of the best guys in Dubuque. He has done a great job assembling a top notch team with chef Tony cooking up some options and probably the most gluten free / diet restriction conscious menu in town. They will also have a few Jubeck brews on tap. Also if the dinning room is packed, you can go to Jubeck brewery and they will run a pizza over to yuh there.

Great sunset view from this traditional supper club (yes they make a good old fashion, even though they are in Illinois).

A great spot to have more of a casual experience with great Italian comfort food. A definite locals spot.

In the diamond jo casino and a great break from gambling (if that’s your thing). The acacado egg rolls are my favorite thing. I only get to the casino a couple times a year, but when I do I take my break (before I loose my $100 gambling allowance) and grab some egg rolls. There full menu is also great and get there on date night occasionally. I tend to stick closer to mainstreet, but never disappointed here either.
