Wood-fire pizza and a great beer list. Cool vibe, delicious food, great service - this restaurant was named after a horse the co-owners purchased! Highly recommend getting ribs too if they are making them that night (NB. NOT on the menu)

Probably my favorite park in Manhattan. Stunning views of New Jersey and the Rockefeller Land Trust, which protects the land from any construction in perpetuity. Beautiful heather garden and hills. On any given weekend, the park is host to many family barbecues, which gives it a warm, family-friendly feel. The park also houses the Cloisters - the reconstructed monastery and vegetable garden managed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Park is free but there is an entrance fee for the Cloisters.

The new Whitney Museum was recently opened in an awesome neighborhood of Manhattan: Greenwich Village. The Whitney's specialty is modern American art which spans from paintings to photographs and sculptures sprinkled across outdoor and indoor spaces. Great place for a weekday afternoon, when it is a little less crowded than on weekends. Stunning views of the waterfront as well! Recommend going early and combining with a walk on the High line park (entrance on Gansevoort as well) and checking out Chelsea Market for a snack or some lobster :)
