A cosy pub with classic meals like lamb shanks, Kosciuszko beer battered flathead fillets and Portuguese baked chicken breast. Family friendly, great for a group of mates and sneak a table by the open fire for a more romantic dinner. Lots of great Australian and New Zealand wines on offer, too.

Another top spot for skiing and boarding is Thredbo. Access can only be obtained via 4WD vehicle or a car with ski chains fitted. Even if you’re not hitting the slopes, it is a gorgeous village to visit in the winter, with the alpine architecture draped in snow. Summer or winter, Lake Jindabyne offers a picturesque background to a morning walk, spot of exercise, scoot or bike ride along the walkway or splash in the alpine water. One of the reasons we love this town so much is this lake! It hosts an interesting history, covering the old town of Jindabyne that was flooded in 1967. At low tide, you can catch a glimpse of the steeple from the old church. in summer, you can even charter your own sail boat from Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club.

Shopping

Look no further than a trip to Design and Detail for a souvenir or two to take home from your stay in Jindabyne. This beautiful store has everything from Pendleton blankets, throws, pillows, mountain design books, art work and Akubra hats. Dianne, the owner, has also opened a gallery Two Doors Up, which is exactly that - two doors up from her Design and Detail store. She showcases some fantastic local artists, including one of our favourites, Justine Slough, who's beautiful pieces are on display in our chalet.
